Best Firewall For Servers? (Windows)

Maybe I'm in the wrong section, but does anyone knows whats the best firewall for a windows 2003 server?I'm getting DoS attacks against me and I want them to stop, or reduce the most i can. Is a firewall the correct option for doing that? Or is there another one?Thats it,Thanks,Brunno

You can use the firewall which comes with Windows 2003, by default it's disabled while installation of OS, you need to enable it and configure it properly to make it work.
even you can try using hardware firewall such as Cisco ASA 5510 etc...
or else just contact your host if you are facing major problem, your host will fix it for you.

You will need a Dedicated Firewall if you are currently facing any DDOS attack. You first need to check the quantity of DDOS attack that you are facing and after that also need to check the capacity of DDOS attack that a firewall can resist. If you have heavy DDOS attack like 1 GBPS, than a Proxy Shield is the only option for preventing your server from that attack.

Windows 2003 comes with a default firewall, enable that and see what happens or better yet, you can use sites like google to search for the best firewalls available in the market.

You will need hardware firewall if you have DDoS attack, any software solution is not enough.
If you dont have DDoS attack you dont need any firewall except Windows Firewall.

If you are facing DDOS attack then you should go with Dedicated Firewall..
