But obvious Mysql is not running on the server , there might be an issue with mysql sock .. contact your provider and have them to fix this issue.

You can try to reinstall but by the sounds of it, by any chance did you install MySQL on the server before you installed cPanel. This can cause fatal errors and the only way to fix it is a re installation of the OS.
