I think unmetered bandwidth plans were a little less common when the original post was made.

Yes i also do agree that unmetered bandwidth plans are less common.

If you jump on un-metered, that's fine but it might be slower rates but even so 10mbps is fine for MANY types of sites. Unfortunately, that's one of the gotchas with certain web hosts, charging overage fee's but equally many hosts do not..
