what is hte difference between the dedicaed server and multiple servers?

I want to know what is hte difference between the dedicted servber and multiple severss?. I was confused to chose which is the best out of htem for my big web site?. Please let me know the details for which is the best.

I think dedicated server here is the physical server . Multiple servers refer more of the software like for instance having multiple virtual servers installed on a dedicated server. The Apache for instance can create multiple virtual web servers.

You don't mean multiple dedicated servers I assume? If so, it means the difference between running your site off one server, or splitting it up to a multiple server setup, where certain dedicated servers handle certain functions (DB, Media, etc).
